The land is overgrown with iron. You are the Gainskeeper.

GAINSKEEPER is a side-scrolling pixel-action game about punching through 3,000 meters of impossible iron, building an increasingly ridiculous physique, and defeating ten gym legends on the road to the Final Lift.

Break the iron

Stacks are physical structures, not ordinary health bars. Individual plates crack, lose support, wobble, collapse, crush enemies, and knock neighboring towers into escalating domino chains. Find the glowing keystone, stomp the top, rip loose debris free, or bring the whole structure down the hard way.

Build the body

Every Strength rank visibly changes the Gainskeeper. Grow through 30 ranks and seven physique stages, from SCRAWNY to LEGENDARY. At every shop, the Physique Architect lets you freely redistribute earned visual points across delts, chest, arms, back, core, and legs, then customize hair, headband, and trunks without changing combat balance.

Bank your gains

The Scoops you carry are at risk. Bank them at SUPPZ trucks, buy permanent upgrades, heal, and establish safe checkpoints before pushing deeper into the route. If your GRIT reaches zero, every unbanked Scoop is lost; your bank, purchased upgrades, defeated bosses, trophies, and journal pages remain safe.

Fight ten legends

Every gate is guarded by a different boss with its own build, silhouette, equipment, movement style, move pool, arena tells, second phase, and GASSED vulnerability window. Sixteen route-specific enemies pressure your movement, stamina, Pump, combo, towers, and Scoop economy between fights.

Features

  • A complete 3,000-meter campaign across ten visually and musically distinct lands
  • Ten individually built and animated bosses with different strategies and second phases
  • Sixteen distinct enemies with their own silhouettes, behaviors, counters, and meme dialogue
  • Structural iron physics: individual pieces, support, keystones, wobble, collapse, six-tower domino chains, and throwable debris
  • Thirty visible Strength ranks, seven physique stages, and a freely redistributable six-muscle Physique Architect
  • Cross-body punches, eight-frame running, four-stage jumping, stomps, low-stack targeting, combos, PUMP SLAMS, and Frenzy drops
  • Twelve journal pages, 28 goals, permanent trophies, a true ending, and endless postgame play
  • Local autosaving, portable save export/import, checkpoint retries, and a complete pause/main-menu flow
  • Keyboard, mouse, standard gamepad, and landscape touch support
  • Separate master, music, and effects volume plus reduced shake, flash, and particle options

Playtime

Plan for about one hour for a first completed journey, roughly 45–75 minutes. Action-game experience, deaths, exploration, and physique customization can move that estimate substantially. The journal, 28 goals, true ending, and endless postgame add more to chase.

Controls

  • Move: A / D or Arrow Keys
  • Jump / stomp: Space, W, or Up
  • Punch: J, X, or mouse click
  • Grab / throw iron: Hold punch for 0.35 seconds near loose iron, then tap punch
  • Interact / shop: E
  • Bus: Q after purchasing the Bus Pass
  • Pause: P or Escape
  • Mute: M

Standard gamepads are supported. Landscape mobile play uses labeled touch controls. Browsers require one click, tap, or key press before audio can begin.

funny

Interesting so far, but there are some odd bugs with picking up items. I seem to be able to pick up some scoops but not all, which would be fine as I think it said I can only carry a limited amount, but that capacity lessened from about 30 initially to less then that even after banking scoops and resting, and I haven't been able to get past 10 scoops even after banking at the shop.

Also lore pages are not picking up, I got 1 but additional ones that dropped are not picking up properly.
